Salween National Park
On the bank of the beautiful Salween River, you’ll see an incredibly riveting park called Salween National Park. It’s an idyllic place for a day trip especially for those who appreciate and wants to strengthen their bond with nature. The park’s location is in Sop Moei and Mae Sariang Districts. It has an interesting mountainous forested terrain as well as it displays an impressive collection of flora, including the second largest teak tree in all of Thailand. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of the outdoorsy activities you can enjoy there is camping in the jungle or rafting down the Salween River.
Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu
Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu is a really special monument in the province of Mae Hong Son, a highly regarded temple placed on a hill that’s perfectly overlooking the town. The thing that people climb up the hill for the most is the amazing view from the temple, which is absolutely worth the trip. The temple contains many structures including a beautiful golden Buddha statue, 2 Chedis, and 2 viharns. There’s a small café situated on the hill providing tasty hill tribe coffee in a serene and tranquil atmosphere. Its location is in Chong Kham, Mueang Mae Hong Son District.
Wat Chong Kham
Mae Hong Son has a lot of beautiful temples, but only one of them Illuminates Jong Kham Lake, and that is the magnificent Wat Chong Kham. A wonderful Burmese Shan temple containing some fascinating objects like hundred-year-old paintings named the Jataka Paintings and highlighted by 2 stunningly golden pillars. The temple also has an interesting small museum displaying 150-year-old Burmese wooden dolls that represent the wheel of life. You should be informed that some areas in Wat Chong Kham don’t allow women’s entrance. It’s located in Chong Kham, Mueang Mae Son District.
Perhaps the most popular natural attraction located near Pai, which is a largely known town in Northern Thailand is Pai Canyon. It’s an amazing canyon offering beautiful views from its narrow trails. The main reason why people visit and why tourists rave about it so much is witnessing the sunset from the canyon. Hiking in the canyon is also encouraged as you can’t get lost because there’s only one trail. it’s an experience that must be lived when you’re visiting Mae Hong Son.
